Tourist and Cultural Train Moita Bonita

The tour with the Tourist Train and Cultural Moita Bonita is a nostalgic trip. A return to the past, precisely to the early twentieth century, recalling the days of the pioneers who through Sorocabana Railroad has raised several cities in our region including Paraguaçu Paulista.
During the trip passengers are accompanied by two monitors giving information about the steam locomotive, the Sorocaba Railroad and Sapezal District with the sound of country music “músicas de raiz sertanejas”. Arriving at the train Sapezal District Station everyone can enjoy the locomotive drive to change direction near the station to position itself on the opposite side of the composition for its return. At the station we selling snacks, soft drinks, beer, water, chocolate truffles and handicraft items. In the square of the station have the Memorial "Galvão Sisters" which tells the story of the beginning of the sister´s artistic career. The stay duration in Sapezal is forty minutes, after that, the passengers will boarding to come back to Paraguaçu Paulista.

The trips take place on Saturdays and Sundays, always starting at 09:00 am leaving from old railroad Railway Station Sorocabana bound for Sapezal District.
The route is 24km round trip.
Duration three hours.

By 1915, with the arrival of Sorocaba's Railroad, which was opened to traffic in 1916, with wagons pulled by steam locomotive raising a new town, with the first homes, rustic. With them arose the first commercial establishments. "Moita Bonita", a name that is assigned as the first given to the city, does not correspond exactly to the urban core that would be later Paraguaçu Paulista. It was just a reference point along the “Ribeirão Alegre”, with a small wood, some 400 meters below the current train station.
